And the brand new design is perfect for that
It is the latest release of the Windows operating system with a new interface and other new features such as the new Microsoft Store, a new AI-powered personalized feed and best-in-class browser performance from Microsoft Edge, chats from Microsoft Teams integrated to the taskbar and much more! What’s new in Windows 11: – Windows 11 will have a completely new design. It’s clear that Microsoft needs a good reason to retract its previous claims and still abandon Windows 10 by introducing a new operating system number. The Redmond giant has long been working on an update called Sun Valley (“Valley of the Sun”) – apparently, it was named after Windows 11. The Sun Valley project has been flickering online for a long time, with Microsoft regularly releasing details about the new interface style, insiders sharing previously unknown information, and popular designers drawing realistic concepts in their circles based on all this data.
– Launched and system items will float above the bottom bar
Start is the calling card and face of every latest version of Windows. It is not surprising that in the Windows 11 operating system, the developers will rearrange it again, but not so much functionally as visually – the Start window will float above the bottom bar. We have to admit that this small change makes the system look much fresher. Judging by information from the network, Microsoft will not radically change the “inside” of this menu – the innovations will affect only the design of the window itself. The control panel will also float and have the exact same design as Start.
– Rectangles disappear, replaced by fillets
The Action Center will be combined with control buttons, something similar that has been used for a long time in some other operating systems. Almost all mentions of this new menu indicate that it will be isolated, with controls in one separate panel, notifications in another, and specific items (like the player) in yet another. In fact, insiders and creators of concepts are divided on this matter, with some convinced that Microsoft will not change its tradition and stick to right angles, while others are convinced that in 2021 Microsoft will follow the fillet fashion. The latter better fits the definition of “all-new Windows”—sliding menus alone aren’t enough to make a new design truly new. Rounding is expected to affect almost everything on the system, from context menus and system trays to all application windows.
– There will be a transparent background with a blur everywhere
True, even on this issue, the opinions of designers differ – some draw curves in all possible interface elements, others combine them with right angles. The island style, angular design, and menu levitation effect of the window display are divided on the Internet, but almost everyone agrees on the transparency of the windows. The vast majority of design leaks and renders show transparency and blur across all windows, whether it’s at least the Start menu or the browser. Moreover, these effects are present even when installing the canceled Windows 10X operating system, which Microsoft developed for devices with two screens and weak apps in parallel with the Sun Valley project. The so-called transparency of acrylic means the use of new effects when transitioning elements, as well as increasing the gaps between elements – those areas of the interface with which the user interacts will certainly increase, and page headers will become denser.
– New font that was already displayed
Windows 11 will likely use the default Segoe UI Variable responsive font, which has already appeared in Windows 10 Build 21376 for Insiders. Its advantage is that it is equally suitable for small texts and large notes.
