A fading celebrity takes a black-market drug: a cell-replicating substance that temporarily creates a younger, better version of herself. There’s nothing scarier than being human, and these films explore the utterly inhuman ways our bodies can betray us. From the chilling to the daring, here are five body horror movies you might have missed. Ray Liotta was cast in the film in February 2022, but died in May of that year before he could shoot his scenes. Dennis Quaid replaced him, but Liotta is still mentioned in the director’s acknowledgments.
Let me start with the positives
The dressing mirror reappears intact after being repeatedly smashed during the fight sequence.. Elizabeth Sparkle: There was a slight abuse of the substance all covered in blood.. Featured on The 7PM Project: Episode 20 September 2024 (2024). Pump It Up Written by Michael Hall, Leonardo Stella Performed by Earl Gregory Produced by Julien Deguin. There are a LOT of them.
Really great idea for a movie
The casting? perfect acting? Pretty flawless. All the performances drew me in and added a lot to the story. The concept was phenomenal and super interesting.
The cinematography was unique and very good
The result also added significantly to the tension. The first 2 thirds of the movie did all these things up to TS So why 6 stars? THE END. It took the believable and suspenseful aspects of the story and threw them out the window to indulge the director’s Cronenberg fantasy and his desire to maximize the special effects budget. It came off as completely disorganized, almost like they had no idea what to do with the ending or any desire to make it interesting.
Side notes: enough with the butt shots
A movie with so much going for it and I left the theater disappointed. We understand what you’re trying to do, that’s enough. Also, if you want to gross your audience out, put the work in the writers’ room. Adding screeching sounds to almost every scene is lazy.
